Collaborative Activities with Professors from University of Sannio, Italy,2025

The Institute of Engineering has been collaborating with the University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy (https://www.unisannio.it/en), under the Erasmus Learner Mobility Project KA1712022. As part of this collaboration, several faculty members and graduate students, including Ph.D. and Master’s candidates from Pulchowk Campus, have visited the University of Sannio.

Graduate students typically spend three months at the university, conducting research in areas closely related to instrumentation in Prof. Pasquale Daponte's laboratory. This program provides financial support for travel and living expenses, offering participants global exposure, an exceptional learning environment, and the opportunity to work in state-of-the-art laboratories under the guidance of renowned professors.

This time a delegation from the University of Sannio, led by Professor Pasquale Daponte, an IEEE Fellow, visited the Institute of Engineering from March 06, 2025 for a week. The following team aimed to share insights into ongoing activities and explore potential avenues for collaboration.

  2. Francesco Pepe – Professor, Department of Engineering (Energetics)
  3. Marina Paolucci – Professor, Department of Science and Technology (Science, Food, and Technology)
  4. Giovannivito Persiano – Professor, Department of Engineering (Electronics)
  5. Francesco Vespasiano – Professor, Department of Law, Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods (Sociology and Management)

On March 7th, 2025, the professors engaged in discussions with Dean Prof. Dr. Sushil Bahadur Bajracharya, Assistant Deans Prof. Dr. Binod Kumar Bhattarai, Dr. Suraj Lammichane and Dr. Baburam Dawadi, Pulchowk Campus Chief Dr. Sanjaya Uprety, CARD Director Prof. Dr. Vishnu Prasad Pandey, ICTC Director Dr. Sanjeeb Prasad Panday, along with Department Heads of Pulchowk Campus. Dy. Director Dr. Basanta Joshi shared the ongoing activities of the collaboration. The team discussed about the possibility of Joint PhD program and extension of collaboration of other departments including Department of Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architecture. The Following this meeting. the professors toured the laboratories of different departments within Pulchowk Campus.

An interaction session with graduate students from the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering, and the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and faculties of Pulchowk Campus was conducted. A birthday celebration of Prof. Dr. Pasquale Daponte was planned by faculties and students who visited University of Sannio before.

The team also visited Pashchimanchal Campus, Pokhara and conducted a session for undergraduate and graduate students and interacted with the faculties of Department of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering.
