Transdisciplinary Education for a Sustainable Society (SAMAJ) Samaj

This project has been started in partnership between Project Leader Prof. Dr Martina Keitsch, Department of Design, NTNU Norway, Center for Applied Research and Development, IOE and Department of Architecture and Urban Planning Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University

The main purpose of the project is to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals in education and research. This has reciprocal value and potential for both IOE and NTNU, where the SGDs have become an important part of the university strategy plan 2018-2025. 
SAMAJ will create synergies between higher education and the Nepalese /Norwegian society through: 

  •  transdisciplinary education via stakeholder collaboration
  •  developing curriculum for Master students and PhDs for practice-based research. 
  •  applying methods such as co-design, contextual case studies, and fieldwork within existing communities of practices to enhance dialogue, mutual learning, and respect.
